I finally ran in to Nick Duda at his location in East Haven CT, to present him with the Harry Wishart Trophy, me being last year’s recipient. Nick was unable to attend the event in New Hampshire this year. The Harry Wishart award is named after an industry Broker from Maine who exemplified the excellence of our industry and the importance of State Associations and all operators getting together to champion our causes, fight for our Industry at State Houses, share business ideas and successes and most important have Fun!
The trophy has been passed on year to year from one winner to another, since 2000, at the New England Spring Meeting. As I said at the event in New Hampshire this year; Nick was the catalyst from start to finish to finally get NERSA off the ground and unite all the New England State Associations as one Regional Association, ready to fight and promote our Industry (along with NAMA) for all New England States. Nick took on the task and united everyone, worked with NAMA, brought on Synergos to help manage and Tech 2 Success for our website, to get us to the finish line.
